When Jessica Pegula decides to walk away from professional tennis, it’s safe to assume that the American star will one day have the opportunity to travel in style. The world No.5 is still striving for a maiden Grand Slam title, having only managed a best of a quarter-final place in each of the four major events so far.
But she still boasts a reported net worth of £9.45million. And that figure will increase significantly due to the inheritance she’s in line to receive from her parents, with her father and petroleum engineer Terry worth a staggering £5.4billion.
As well as his business empire, the 73-year-old is also the owner of the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL and along with wife Kim, has acquired famous NFL outfit the Buffalo Bills. And he also owns a £60million super yacht, called the Top Five II in relation to his intentions to leave the vessel to his five children.
His previous yacht was worth £13.5m, boasted six cabins and could sleep 12 people. But that American model was duly replaced by a Dutch-built boat, with the Hakvoort Shipyard delivering him a luxurious 61-metre yacht complete with eye-catching and lavish features, following the plans laid out by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, and Diana Yacht Design.

An entire deck is dedicated to the owner, complete with a private al-fresco dining area, a state of the art suite, a jacuzzi, and five spacious cabins. And staff members also don’t need to worry about a lack of comfort, with private cabins laid on for the captain, chief engineer, and first officer, not to mention a sizable dining area for the crew at mealtimes.
The upper deck is designed to make the most of warm weather. Four-time tour winner Pegula, 30, will be able to keep fit in a large swimming pool with the area also complete with BBQ facilities, sun pads, and a sauna.
That floor also boasts two lounges, one indoor and one outdoor, and is topped off by a huge fire pit area for the family and guests to enjoy late at night. But the yacht isn’t just built for relaxation, the vehicle can also travel at a real rate of knots.
The Top Five II has twin Caterpillar engines which can see it to reach more than 15 knots (17 mph/28kph) with an autonomous range of 4,200 nautical miles (4,800 miles/7,770 km), at ‘cruising’ speed. The vessel has also had a premium dynamic positioning system inserted, as well as zero-speed stabilisers, a chart system, and a sonar.
Pegula, who has previously embraced her own business projects and created her own skin-care line called Ready 24 in 2017, is yet to voice any intentions of retirement. But given the gift that one day awaits her and her siblings, few can begrudge her if she’s already excited about her post-WTA Tour days.
