Djokovic’s wife in awkward interviewNovak Djokovic was met with an eye-roll from his wife, Jelena, while discussing his role as a parent this week. The 37-year-old’s two children have been at Wimbledon to support their father on his run to the semi-finals.
Djokovic and his family unexpectedly benefitted from a day of rest on Wednesday as Alex de Minaur withdrew from his slated quarter-final against the Serb due to injury.
When asked what he hoped his children saw when they watched on from the stands, he told Tennis Channel: “Out of the two parents, I’m the one who is responsible for their activities, sports, healthy lifestyle.”
After glancing over to his wife, Jelena, in the studio, Djokovic continued: “Exactly – she’s rolling her eyes right now as I’m speaking!”

Raducanu and Kartal rise up WTA RankingsWimbledon sensation Sonay Kartal is set to be handed a huge boost to her career prospects following her breakthrough tournament performance on her SW19 debut.
The youngster was ranked 298th in the world prior to entering Wimbledon as a qualifier. But after making it into the first round proper, she pulled off the shock of the tournament by knocking out 28th-seeded Sorana Cirstea and later beat Clara Burel.
She was knocked out by Coco Gauff in round three, but Kartal’s reward for her impressive run will see her climb 108 places to 190th in the WTA Rankings.
Former British No. 1 Emma Raducanu has made her way back into the top 100 after reaching the fourth round at SW19.
The one-time Grand Slam winner, 21, fell to 303rd in the world as recently as April 2024 after a series of injuries. However, Raducanu will jump to 94th when the rankings are published on Monday.

Paolini impressed by VekicDonna Vekic has never before been beyond the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam and Jasmine Paolini has been impressed by her performances.
“I think she serves really good and she’s fighting every ball. But I’m fighting, too, every ball,” she said.
“No, I mean, I think I’m moving well here. But as I said, today I played a really good forehand. It’s working good in this tournament, the forehand. Yeah, I hope it’s going to help me with Donna.
“Yeah, she’s serving well. It’s important also to return well against her I think, to make her run.”
