Daria Kasatkina broke down in years in her latest YouTube vlog before telling her viewers that some of them will soon be banned from watching her videos.

The world No. 12 was distraught after suffering a first-round exit at the recent Canadian Open.

And she became more emotional as she explained that YouTube would soon be banned in Russia, her home country, which will stop their vlogs from being seen.

Kasatkina and her girlfriend Natalia Zabiiako run a successful channel, What The Vlog, documenting life on the tennis tour. The seven-time title winner has always been open about the downsides of being a professional player, including the rough travel schedules.

And she shared another dose of reality in their latest episode, filmed in Toronto during the recent WTA 1000 tournament. At the end of the video, Kasatkina cried as she reflected on her defeat to Amanda Anisimova and detailed the seven-hour, £548 ($700) journey to Cincinnati.

As Zabiiako consoled her on camera, the 27-year-old also turned her attention to the YouTube ban in Russia. “It’s always very difficult for me to film this part,” Kasatkina’s girlfriend said.

“What to talk about? I’m just sick of it,” the world No. 12 said. “This is all okay and you just need to go through all of this. It’s just two weeks, this is how your two weeks turned out,” Zabiiako reminded her. But Kasatkina was having none of it.

After ranting about the upcoming trip to Cincinnati, the camera cut and the Russian tennis star had clearly been sobbing. She added: “WTF. You’re practising, you’re getting ready, you work with a psychologist, you do everything and still…”

Once her girlfriend had comforted her, Kasatkina turned her attention to another issue. “And YouTube is also starting to be blocked in Russia,” she said. “Now everyone will stop watching us. YouTube for the people is blocked, I lost, it’s horrible.”

When Kasatkina makes it to Cincinnati, she will face fellow Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round. The 27-year-old will be keen to turn things around after back-to-back first-round losses in Toronto and Washington.
