Pablo Larrazabal has vowed to “never” play a full schedule on the PGA Tour. The Spaniard has been a regular on the European Tour for 15 years and has racked up nine title wins.
Larrazabal, 41, clinched both the Korea Championship and KLM Open crowns last year when he rose to a career-high of 50th in the world. He’s since slumped down to 150th in the rankings, but that hasn’t done anything to force his attention towards the United States.
Given he’s still very much competitive on the European Tour, golf star Larrazabal could make a bid for its PGA equivalent. However, he’s adamant that’s not something he wants to do.
Larrazabal – who featured in the Saudi-funded LIV Golf League back in 2022 – was praised by one fan on X, who said they hoped to catch more of him playing on the American circuit. However, his reply was anything but encouraging.
The veteran was resolute in his response as he wrote back: “Thank you Felix but I will never play PGA full schedule…” The top 10 players on the Race to Dubai – the European Tour’s rankings – automatically qualify to play the PGA Tour. However, it seems new dad Larrazabal wouldn’t be interested even if that does become an option.
The Barcelona native has been a regular fixture in golf’s majors in the past, though he’s missed the cut in 15 of his 20 attempts. He tied for 65th at the PGA Championship in 2023 but later missed the weekend’s action at both the US Open and The Open in Liverpool.
He’s currently 50th in the Race to Dubai standings, though there’s still time for him to climb into top-10 contention. Larrazabal will take part in this weekend’s Scottish Open, which will pit European Tour players against their PGA counterparts.
And the 10-time pro-event winner said he “can’t wait” to get underway at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick come Thursday. Rory McIlroy is expected to make his return to action in Scotland having taken a break since his US Open devastation in June.

However, he also conceded he’s still ironing some kinks out of his play ahead of the big meet. With that being the case, Larrazabal also told his fans the drinks will be on him “all night” if he does the unthinkable and claims the Scottish title.
Fans from both tours will get their chance to watch a host of stars from both sides of the Atlantic in action this weekend. However, any PGA followers enthused about Larrazabal’s cameo will have to make the most of him while they can.
