The British Grand Prix is set up for an enthralling race as Lando Norris and Max Verstappen continue their fight at the front of the grid. Mercedes have traditionally been strong on the Silverstone circuit so George Russell will be hoping to follow up his victory from Austria last time out.

Norris crashed out of the race after colliding with Verstappen at the Red Bull Ring and was initially angry with the Dutchman. The pair held talks over the phone on Monday to mend their relationship – but both insist they will continue racing hard.

The cars will hit the track for the first time today, with FP1 and FP2 set to throw up some interesting results with rain expected.

Mercedes door open for SainzMercedes have left the door ajar for Carlos Sainz to join George Russell next season – but it will soon slam shut.

Toto Wolff has explained that he can’t wait around forever as he looks to make a decision over Lewis Hamilton’s replacement.

Wolff said: “That is why I also want to take my time with the decision and keep all options open as long as possible. And when I spoke to Carlos I already told him: ‘I am not sure you can wait as long as I would like you to wait’.”

Norris and Verstappen agreementLando Norris and Max Verstappen have struck an agreement to keep racing each other hard – and leave any fallout on the track.

The pair are good friends away from F1 and they are keen to let avoid any racing incident affecting their relationship.

Verstappen explained: “I was saying, ‘Lando, when you go for moves up the inside, the outside, you can trust me that I’m not there to try and crash you out of the way’… Same the other way around because we spoke about that as well.”

FIA hackedThe FIA has been hacked after workers fell for a phishing attack. Two emails were compromised at F1’s governing body.

An FIA statement reads: “The FIA took all actions to rectify the issues, notably in cutting the illegitimate accesses in a very short time, once it became aware of the incidents and notified the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (the French data protection regulator), and the Préposé Fédéral à la Protection des Données et à la Transparence (the Swiss data protection regulator).”

It is unclear what data, if any, has been affected.
