Wimbledon begins today with several high-profile stars set to take to the court. The likes of Jannik Sinner, Casper Ruud, Emma Raducanu and Aryna Sabalenka face their first-round matches today.
But today’s biggest news could come off the court. Andy Murray is set to make a decision on whether he will play at his final Championships. The British tennis icon was scheduled to play in the singles, playing his first match on Tuesday, and in the doubles alongside his older brother Jamie.
Murray underwent surgery on a spinal cyst last week after retiring at Queen’s Club. The Scot, a winner at Wimbledon in 2013 and 2016, is desperate to play on centre court one final time.

Novak Djokovic leaves Carlos Alcaraz surprisedCarlos Alcaraz was surprised by Novak Djokovic’s presence at Wimbledon in the build-up to the Championships.
Djokovic, who Alcaraz beat in last year’s final, has recovered remarkably quickly from surgery on his right knee.
The Serb tore his meniscus during the fourth round of the French Open and underwent a procedure at the start of June.
Alcaraz said: “I will always put him on the list of favourites. I was surprised on one hand that he is here, but on the other hand not, because we all know how he takes care of himself, his diet, his rest.
“I told him the other day that what he does is superhuman. In two and a half weeks he is already playing sets at a very high level. He has already shown that he recovers very quickly.”

Andy Murray outlines Wimbledon decisionAndy Murray will make a final decision on his Wimbledon participation this evening.
The two-time champion is scheduled to play on Tuesday but is not fully fit following surgery on a spinal cyst last week.
Murray is due to have one final practice set on Monday before making a decision on his ability to play at what is likely to be his final Wimbledon.
“The opportunity to play here again for the last time, that’s kind of it. This is a place that’s obviously been really good to me over the years,” the 37-year-old said.
“I guess the last few years you’ve had Serena finished playing, Roger finished playing, and Rafa obviously has spoken a lot recently about the struggles he’s gone through. Everyone has their idea of how they want to finish their career, how they would want it to go.
“My idea would have seen that happening probably at Wimbledon. Obviously I have the Olympics coming up. But I would love the opportunity to play here one more time. That’s what I’m looking to get out of it.
“I’m hoping for, when it comes to the end, maybe a bit of closure. I just want the opportunity to play one more time out there hopefully on Centre Court and feel that buzz. Whether afterwards I feel it was the right thing to do or not, I don’t know. But right now I feel like I want that opportunity.”
