Aside from being the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley was also the Hollywood star of 31 feature films.

Sadly many of them were romantic comedies that weren’t of the highest quality, but the King did make several that are well-loved by fans and considered classics to this day.

Film fan database IMDb has rated the Top 10 and the King’s personal favourite turns out to be No 1.

Check out the full list below which doesn’t include the two concert documentary films he made in the 1970s, just the scripted movies.

10. GI Blues (1960) – 6.2/10Between 1958-60, Elvis had to put a halt on his career to do his US Army service in West Germany. To mark his big comeback, Sergeant Presley starred in a musical comedy about a singing tank crewman, set where he was serving in real life. In one scene his character Tulsa McLean discovers a track on a bar jukebox called Blue Suede Shoes sung by some guy called Elvis Presley.

9. Love Me Tender (1956) – 6.2/10Having shot to fame in 1956, Elvis Presley made his acting debut in this musical Western. It would be the only time in his acting career in which he didn’t receive the top billing. This was something his manager Colonel Tom Parker was uncompromising on, even when Barbra Streisand offered A Star Is Born. Love Me Tender, which follows real-life Confederate siblings during the American Civil War, had its name changed from The Reno Brothers to the song title after Elvis’ single sold over 1 million copies.
