Ant-Man and The Wasp: Kang meets Scott for the first timeJonathan Majors was set to be the MCU’s new Thanos-level threat as time travelling despot Kang the Conqueror.

Introduced in the Loki TV series and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the Marvel villain was a plethora of variants working together to rule the multiverse.

However, after being found guilty on two counts of harassment and assault, the actor was dropped from the franchise by Disney.

Rather than recast the role, Marvel Studios have decided to introduce Fantastic Four arch-nemesis Doctor Doom instead, with Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr returning to the series for the role.

Approached about this news, Majors didn’t hold back his negative feelings on the turn of events.

Speaking with TMZ, Majors said: “Yeah, heartbroken. Of course I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked, though.”

The outlet pointed out how Downey Jr had previously been arrested in 1996 for drug and gun possession, being given three years of probation before his big comeback in 2008’s Iron Man.

The former Kang star said: “I didn’t really get that [opportunity]” adding: “I think it’s fair that Mr Downey is being and has been greeted with patience and curiosity and love … and [he’s] being allowed to work [his] art and be creative at that level.”

Asked if he would be up for returning as Kang if Marvel gave him the opportunity, Majors replied: “Hell yeah! Hell yeah! I love him. I love Kang. If that’s what the fans want, and that’s what Marvel wants then let’s roll. Hell yeah.”
