Deadpool And Wolverine Post-Credits Scene Explained

Deadpool and Wolverine: Hugh Jackman stars in Marvel trailerWarning – this article contains major spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine.

Deadpool and Wolverine fans are eager to find out if they should stick around for a post-credits scene at the end of the latest Marvel blockbuster.

Since its inception, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been teasing what’s coming up next with stingers in the middle and end of the credits, and Ryan Reynolds’ latest fourth wall-breaking escapade is no different.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing in the credits previewing what’s coming next, so comic book fans will need to wait until next year’s Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four are released.

Thankfully, Ryan and Hugh Jackman’s team-up still rewards patient fans who sat through the entire runtime with a hilarious bonus scene.

So, what happens once Deadpool and Wolverine have successfully saved the multiverse?

Does Deadpool and Wolverine have a mid-credits scene?Sadly, the credits don’t hit pause in the middle to treat fans to a stinger or teaser for the next film.

However, there’s still a good reason Marvel fans will want to stick around.

After stuffing the action full of cameos and special appearances, the credits include a touching montage of behind-the-scenes footage from Marvel history.

It includes sweet interviews with Ryan and Hugh from their first time portraying their iconic characters in X-Men (2000) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), which introduced a much-maligned version of the Merc With a Mouth.

We also see stage and screen legends Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen preparing their roles as Professor X and Magneto as well as more footage from the X-Men franchise, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Blade and Elektra set to Green Day’s Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).

Does Deadpool and Wolverine have a post-credit scene?Marvel fans will be thrilled to discover that waiting out the credits is extremely worthwhile in this case.

Earlier in the film, Chris Evans makes a shock return, not as Steve Rogers/Captain America but in his previous role as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in the original Fantastic Four flicks.

He’s swiftly killed in brutal fashion by Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) after Deadpool relays a series of insults about her Johnny allegedly rattled off while they were travelling to her lair.

Johnny insists he never said a word against her, but in the post-credits scene, Deadpool returns to the Time Variance Authority (TVA) headquarters to run back the footage.

An unseen moment from their journey across the Void plays out revealing the former FF hero spouting verbatim what Deadpool claims he said about Cassandra. He even tells his companions “You can quote me” for good measure.

While it definitely ends the Marvel blockbuster on a high, fans may be disappointed there’s no teaser for the next stage of the MCU.

Deadpool and Wolverine is in cinemas now.
