Will Harry Kane prove to be the difference?Harry Kane leads the line for England tonight and will be as desperate as ever to get himself on the scoresheet.

He is currently in joint-first place in the race for the Golden Boot alongside Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo and Georges Mikautadze of Georgia.

Rio Ferdinand believes Kane could be the difference between victory and defeat for the Three Lions.

“Harry Kane is all about goals,” says Ferdinand on BBC One.

“People can moan about his movement and his pace, but if the ball drops into that six-yard area. there is only one man you want it to fall to.

“66 career England goals tell you he knows how to find the back of the net. He wins Golden Boot after Golden Boot.”

“It has been a privilege to work with this group of players for the last six weeks. We want to give everyone the night of their lives.”

On his decision to start Luke Shaw ahead of Kieran Trippier, he says: “He is an experienced player and we feel we have managed his return well.

“He gives us that balance in the team on the left hand side.

Will tonight be Gareth Southgate’s last dance? There has been plenty of speculation about Gareth Southgate’s future as England manager in recent weeks.

He will be out of contract in December and there has been an expectation that he will amicably step down after the Euros.

However, reports have suggested that FA bosses are determined to convince Southgate to stay on regardless of tonight’s result.

Speaking to Sky News about his future earlier this week, he said: “It would be impossible for me to make a logical decision at the moment on any of that.

“My sole focus for two years has been winning this tournament. The last five, six weeks have been an absolute rollercoaster.

“I don’t actually know where I am with anything other than very focused on preparing the team for this game and determined to keep leading them in the way we have over the last month.”

“If you think of him in the tournament, he has got into good positions going forward and I think Spain will do their homework and close off space for Harry Kane, Foden, Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham.

“But that will leave space for a midfielder arriving late, and Mainoo will get one from a cut-back.”

Novak Djokovic urges tennis goers not to worry about potential Wimbledon-Euros overlapWhat a day of sport lies ahead!

That is if you’re watching from the comfort of your own home, with tennis goers having shared fears about a potential Wimbledon-Euros overlap.

Lamine Yamal could break German law by starting for SpainLamine Yamal has been one of Euro 2024’s standout stars, with the teenage sensation a genuine candidate for Player of the Tournament.

His wonder strike against France earned him the title as the youngest-ever goalscorer at a European Championship, with the recently-turned 17-year-old likely to have a major say in tonight’s final.

But should Yamal turn out for La Roja in Berlin, he could be found in breach of German law.

That’s because in Germany, under 18s are prohibited from working beyond 8pm – the scheduled kick-off time for the final.

Unfortunately for those of an English persuasion, exceptions are made for athletes competing in competitions, meaning Yamal will be involved for Spain tonight.

Bitter Germans accuse Gareth Southgate’s England of ‘cheating’ way to finalIt wasn’t meant to end like this for the Germans.

Almost 30 years on from their last European Championship victory, there were genuine expectations that Germany would go all the way and lift the Henri Delaunay Cup on home soil.

Not that they’re bitter about it, though…

German outlet BILD wrote in their Euro 2024 final preview: “The signs on Sunday are clear: While the British cheated their way into the final, the Spanish impressed throughout the entire tournament.”
