England football team continue their Euro 2024 campaign today as Switzerland await in the quarter-final. It’s do or die for Gareth Southgate and his players as they bid for a place in the last four in Germany.

There have been rumours of a radical shake-up in a bid to improve performances. Some reports suggest that Southgate may switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham as joint-No 10s.

Marc Guehi is suspended, with Ezri Konsa likely to come into the team for the defender. The possible formation switch could also see Kyle Walker start as a right-sided centre-back.

Jude Bellingham free to play for EnglandJude Bellingham will be free to play for England today after escaping a ban.

The midfielder seemed to perform a gesture involving his crotch after scoring against Slovakia in the Euro 2024 last-16.

It prompted a UEFA investigation that finally ended yesterday.

Bellingham has been fined around £30,000 and been handed a one-match ban, suspended for 12 months.

Anthony Taylor chastised by GermansAnthony Taylor felt the wrath of the Germans after waving away a penalty appeal against Spain.

Germany were knocked out of their home Euro 2024 on Friday.

But they felt they should have been awarded a penalty with the score level at 1-1.

A goal-bound shot struck the hand of Marc Cucurella.

Taylor did not give a penalty, correctly applying the laws of the game. The defenders hand was not making his body unnaturally bigger.

But Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann fumed:“When the ball is clearly heading for the goal, the Spaniard stops the ball with his hand.

“He doesn’t do it on purpose, but that doesn’t matter.”

The German media was similarly angry. Newspaper Bild complained that Taylor refused to answer questions after the game.

Mikel Arteta admits ‘tough’ tournament for Arsenal duoMikel Arteta admitted that England stars Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka have had ‘tough’ tournaments.

The Three Lions duo have been part of some underwhelming performances under Gareth Southgate.

Arteta said he was delighted for them after England overcame Slovakia.

“[Jude Bellingham’s equaliser] was an unbelievable moment,” Arteta told CBS.

“I was watching it with my boys and my son is a huge fan of Jude Bellingham so he was running and jumping all over the place.

“So glad for the boys [Rice and Saka] because I know it’s been a tough few weeks for them.

“But they showed the character and the resilience that is needed in tournaments to create a moment that hopefully is going to turn a lot of things around.”
