The Red Devils concluded a busy few days by agreeing a new deal with their club captain.

Fernandes said: “Everybody knows the passion I have for Manchester United. I understand the responsibility and significance of wearing this shirt, and the levels of dedication and desire required to represent this incredible club.

“I have had so many special moments here already; hearing my name sung from the Stretford End, scoring a hat-trick against Leeds, leading the team out at Old Trafford on European nights and lifting trophies at Wembley. But I wouldn’t have signed this contract if I didn’t believe that my best moments in a United shirt are still to come.

“From my discussions with the football leadership and manager, it is clear how determined everyone is to fight for major trophies in the years ahead. I can see how positive the future is going to be and I am relishing leading this team forward.”

Possible Luke Shaw replacementsManchester United have said that Luke Shaw will miss the start of the Premier League season with a calf injury.

It opens the prospect of United having to do another deal for a left-back.

Last summer, the Red Devils signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham. However, his spell was cut short in January with the Red Devils believing Shaw was close to a return from a separate fitness issue.

Tyrell Malacia also missed the whole of the 2023-24 season through injury.

United may choose to integrate 17-year-old Harry Amass into the first team this season. The former Watford starlet appeared several times during pre-season.

There could be free transfer possibilities for the former Chelsea and Barcelona wing-back Marcos Alonso.

Fernandes set to pen bumper deal todayManchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes is signing a new contract with the club today, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder hinted earlier this summer that he would hold talks with the higher powers at Old Trafford, and the Portugal international has now opted to put pen to paper on a bumper new deal.

Fernandes will sign a contract until 2027 with the option of a further year.

Second loan deal being considered by RatcliffeManchester United are considering signing a left-back on loan, reports Manchester World.

The Red Devils are scouring the market for cut-price options in defence to provide cover for Luke Shaw, who has been ruled out for the opening few weeks of the season through injury.

United have splashed the cash already this summer and are therefore looking at cheaper options, which included free agents and loan deals – in the same way that Sergio Reguilon joined the club on a short-term deal from Tottenham previously.

Man Utd and rivals offered chance to sign ex-PSG maestroManchester United are reportedly among a host of clubs to have been offered the chance to sign Marco Verratti.

The Italian midfielder left Paris Saint-Germain to head to the Qatar last summer, joining Al-Arabi for a fee in the region of £39million.

However, a return is now firmly on the cards.

HITC report that United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have been informed that Verratti could be available in the final fortnight of the transfer window.

The 31-year-old has just one left year on his contract with Al-Arabi and could be available for a cut-price fee.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Uruguay international is keen to join the Red Devils this summer, with his agent Jorge Mendes leading talks with PSG to attempt to push for a deal to be agreed.

The Ligue 1 outfit are open to the sale of the midfielder but would need to reduce their asking price if they are to strike an agreement with United. The Red Devils are weighing up the sale of another player to fund a bid.

Man Utd reject three Bruno Fernandes approachesManchester United have reportedly rejected three separate approaches for Bruno Fernandes this summer.

The skipper is expected to sign a contract extension with the Red Devils imminently, though he has not been short of suitors over the past few months.

HITC report that Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich both attempted to open talks with United over Fernandes. A Saudi Pro League side also registered an interest in acquiring his services.

The Red Devils remained firm on their stance that Fernandes was not for sale though and a three-year deal is now in place for the Portugal international to sign.

Jadon Sancho swap deal opportunity arisesManchester United may have stumbled across an ideal swap deal opportunity.

The Old Trafford outfit remain locked in negotiations with PSG for Manuel Ugarte, but his price tag is proving to be a major sticking point in talks.

However, Jadon Sancho’s desire to join the Ligue 1 outfit could resolve the situation.

According to Foot Mercato, the England international is keen to join PSG and verbal talks have taken place about the salary he would earn at the Parc des Princes.

With United keen on Ugarte, Sancho could be the ideal makeweight in negotiations to bring down PSG’s asking price.

Ivan Toney loan offer consideredManchester United are considering a loan move for Brentford forward Ivan Toney, reports The Independent.

The Red Devils remain in the market for attacking reinforcements and have shortlisted the England international as an option, but his £60million valuation is proving a major deterrence at this stage.

Toney has just 12 months left on his contract with Brentford, which has led United – and Chelsea – to weigh up whether there is an alternative way to acquire his services.
