Workers show no signs of slowing down their AI use, and they are leveraging AI tools for a wide variety of tasks. While the Microsoft survey mostly focused on employee motivations for using AI, other research by The Conference Board asked employees about the specific ways they are using AI to enhance their work. Here are the most popular ways employees are currently using AI at work, and some ways that they might be able to use AI in the future as the technology continues to improve:
DRAFTING WRITTEN CONTENT
Creating written content is by far the most popular way employees use AI in the workplace, with 68% of AI users saying they use it for this reason. This is no doubt driven by the accessibility of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, which is currently free and open to the public. Employees use these tools to generate a draft of blog posts, emails and other content, then edit it to fix any mistakes and inaccuracies.
